Barrier To Learning Remote Online Assessment
***Voted most comprehensive Specialist Teacher Assessment 2020 by our schools.
Our Specialist teacher support is no longer limited to face to face options, as now no matter where you are based you can access one of our highly comprehensive award winning barrier to learning assessments.
So is this type of assessment for me?
A barrier to learning assessment is often an ideal starting point for a SENDco or Parent if they feel as though the student is struggling in some areas but you aren't really sure exactly which areas we should be investigating further. Parents will be asked to complete a confidential family questionnaire and schools will complete a school based background questionnaire. From that, we will decide on the most appropriate set of assessments.
So, what does it cover?
Barrier to learning assessments can cover a range of areas upon request including dyslexia/dyscalculia/dyspraxia screening, sensory, Literacy, Maths, Fine Motor, Receptive/Expressive Vocabulary, Visual Processing and Visual Reasoning (IQ).
I've had my assessment- now what?
A report and written recommendations will be provided within 2 weeks of the assessment. ***Please note- it is important to note that all remote testing is completed at a screening level and is not a full diagnostic assessment. However, it will determine whether an individual is displaying any traits of a specific learning difficulty and/or strengths and difficulties in a variety of areas to investigate the student's full learning profile. That way, we can ensure that specific recommendations of support can be offer and if appropriate, referral to the most appropriate professional would take place.
Programmes and Support
If our recommendations suggest some programmes of support, we do our upmost to provide as much support as we can and we are often able to send across our resources/some programmes from our sister Team at the Dyslexia Centre North West.
